Avram Delivered:
Avram, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Ministry of Health of the Dominican Republic partnered to develop a national public health campaign to educate the public on the risk and prevention of HIV and Syphilis.
Avram provided technical experts to provide sensitivity training to media. Avram provided experts to implement evidence-based counseling models designed for pregnant women and for couples. These services were provided to support the National Program for Reduction of Vertical Transmission (PNTRV) to reduce new HIV infections.
1) Avram provided oversight and quality assurance for roll-out of a nationwide public service media campaign in the Dominican Republic to prevent new HIV infections. Avram coordinated the publication and distribution of printed materials, the installation of billboards, as well as the national monitoring of public service radio and TV content.
2) Avram trained counselors at public health centers in evidence-based risk reduction interventions for HIV prevention.
3) Avram conducted an evaluation of CDC programs in the Dominican Republic to provide an understanding of the impact of CDC’s Technical Assistance previously conducted.
